From Tokyo, about 35 minutes are enough to reach Landmark Tower and its Sky Garden observatory, with the Cup Noodles Museum, where you design your own instant noodle pack. The port and the red-brick warehouses, former late-19th-century customs buildings turned into galleries, lead to a walk along the port to Yamashita Park, facing the bay. The day ends in Japan's largest Chinatown, with its ceremonial gates and hundreds of restaurants.
